I was tasked to create and develop an editorial illustration to visually represent an article I was assigned. The article selected was ‘Gordon Students Count Cells, Hoping to Unlock Cancer Mysteries’ by Adam Maginnis.
Overall the goal is to capture the same vibes as these minimalistic illustrations. I wanted to incorporate blues and pinks to emphasize the medical aspect. Typical illustration styles are clean and minimalistic. Color palettes are typically blues and whites, and cancer I typically think pink. The overall style should be very clean and the message should be clear
I wanted the illustration to interact with the text. I wrapped the text around one of the circles to help with that. I also added some pink lines underneath the article to tie in with the vector illustration.
